We should move to Mars.

We shouldn't move to Mars.

Moving to Mars could be a terrible idea, too. If we colonize Mars the climate change might not be good for some people. Some diseases could (when forced into climate change) potentially kill the persons living there. Another reason is that if we move the cost will be humongous. If the cost is big then we, not the government, will have to pay. That means cutting health-care benefits, education spending or other important programs—or by raising taxes. This means that we could lose all those things that we love and need. It would also take 150-300 days! We would be giving up a year of our lives just to move somewhere! Going to Mars is a one-way journey, meaning we will be abandoning all we have ever loved, forever!

Moving to Mars would be a great idea. Some people think it will be a bad idea because of money issues. I do agree, it would be pretty expensive but if you really think about it, in 100 years money might not even exist in the world. Even if it does, we could be so overpopulated we might have to start getting rid of people or stop them from having children. There's no better option than inhabiting other worlds. If we don't go to Mars, someone else will and that ensures political and economical benefit for whoever succeeds. The geography of Mars is much alike to Earth. There are volcanoes, canyons, and impact basins. Actually, 78,000 people applied to move to Mars with The Mars One Project. They aim to establish a colony on Mars in 2023. Mars One has been accepting applications since May 2013 for volunteers who wanted to be trained as astronauts.
